Enjoy gay b&b homestay accommodation at its best, in bohemian Brighton

With the end of lockdown in sight, we travel-starved gay men are probably fantasising about some holiday time. But since the chances for a foreign getaway look limited, a staycation in dear old Blighty could be the next best thing.

If you're a solo traveller, you might be wondering where to go, what to do, and where to stay on a weekend away. You could, of course book a hotel room, or your own Airbnb - but they can often feel a bit lonely or impersonal.

A homestay, on the other hand, gives you access to local knowledge, and a host to chat with – and in my case, Ka Huna massage skills, and a passion for cooking!

Why a Brighton gay homestay?

I’ve been running homestay mini-retreats for many years during my time living in Australia, And now I'm back home and settled in Brighton, I'm repeating the formula here.

As gay men, we're living increasingly disconnected lives, with fewer ways to meet, socialise and feel part of a community of like-minded others. You might also have a stressful job, or be feeling a lockdown-weary sense of loneliness or isolation. If so, a personalised, gay-run weekend homestay retreat could be just the ticket to help you rest and revive!

This one's all about amazing massage (I do Ka Huna, a style you're probably not familiar with – yet!), hearty food, and good company. And if you're curious, I can also throw in a meditation, yoga, or breathwork session (if you haven't tried this yet, you really should!), and tips on herbs, health and nutrition.

Your home-from-home is a bright and sunny top floor 2-bedroom apartment, complete with large windows and panoramic views across Brighton and out to sea. I'm based in Brighton's lovely 7 Dials area, with shops, cafes, bakeries and a great pub all just moments away. It's a 10-minute walk into town, or down to the seafront.

I'm always happy to chat/tell you about some of Brighton's hidden gems. And I'm equally able to 'read the room' and shut up, if you'd like some space to just be!
